Care should be taken in the selection of shingle size. Small differences of as little as an inch or two in length or width can significantly affect availability or price. Extreme sizes, large or small, can be difficult to fabricate and may not always be available. Generally, larger slates cost more and take longer to produce. It behooves the slate purchaser to be flexible in the selection of slate size as this can allow purchase from inventory, securing the best availability. Certain sizes and colors can require several weeks, even months, to produce. Inquire early to be sure your slate will be on hand when you need it.
